Fallout 4 has 176 weapon mods total (not counting unmodified muzzles), and counting the same mod that can go on different weapons as one mod. New Vegas also has 38 weapon mods total New Vegas also has 71 Ammunition types, not counting the MF Breeder or Archimedes II Chargeįallout 4 has 105 weapons counting unique weapons, but not counting weapons that can be made into rifles like the Institute Pistol, the Laser Pistol or the Pipe Pistol, since that counts as a mod, and not counting the flare gun as a weapon.
I've been curious about this topic since the game's release, so I did some research on the wikia.įallout New Vegas has 135 weapons counting unique weapons and the Detonator and C4 as the same weapon. They also didn't add ammunition types like there were in New Vegas. Fallout 4 is often touted as having ludicrous weapon variety due to having a whole new weapon mod system, which is still an awesome system that is a magnificent addition to Fallout (in fact, it's my favorite addition in the game), but what real effect does this actually have on weapon variety? It seemed to me that they compromised the actual number of weapon types to increase the number of mods.
